Calling Your Bluff
( you guess that person is not telling the truth … )
When you gamble that the other person won\’t do what he says he will do, you are calling his bluff. Example: \”They say they will fire me if I skip work today, but I am calling their bluff.\”
When you call a person\’s bluff in a game of cards, you bet against him because think that he is lying. Example: \”I\’ll bet one hundred dollars.\” Reply: \”I don\’t think you don\’t have four kings, so I am calling your bluff.\”
When you tell that person you think he is lying, you are\”calling his bluff\”. Example: \”I demanded that they give me more money, but they are calling my bluff.\” Another example: \”We don\’t think you are going to do it. We are calling your bluff.\”
