Carried Away
( one is so excited that one does too much … )
A person who fell into a quick moving river may be \”carried away\” to another place by the water, just like a person who is so excited that she coninues doing something when she is \”carried away\”. Example: \”You cleaned everything. Even the dog.\” Reply: \”Yes. I got kind of carried away.\” Another example: \”You\’ve been drawing for three hours.\” Reply: \”Yes. I got carried away.\”
Like a person who has fallen into a flowing river which \”carries that person away\”, a person\’s enthusiasm carries her to do more when one gets carried away. Example: \”Okay, everyone. It is okay to cheer for your team, but don\’t get carried away. We still need to be polite.\”
You forgot to stop and did a lot of that thing when you got carried away.
