And finally I would like to express our gratitude to the people and government of the United States of America, the State of Georgia, the City of Atlanta, the National Olympic Committee of the United States, and in particular, the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games, led by Mr. William Porter Payne, Billy Payne. We thank all of them for their warm and traditional welcome, and also to the tens of thousands of volunteers for their dedicated contribution to the success of the games. I now have the honor and privilege of inviting the President of the United States to proclaim open, the games of the 26th Olympiad, the Centennial games.”
