\”Carrying it a bit too far\” is doing too much of some thing and not stopping when you should stop. Example: \”It is okay to make jokes during class, but you are carrying it a bit too far.\”
Doing it a little bit may be okay, but you are doing it too much when you \”carry it too far\”. Example: \”April Fool\’s jokes are fun, but putting salt in my coffee was carrying it a bit too far.\” Another example: \”I know you kids were just trying to have fun, but you carried it a bit too far.\”
